Last week, Josh and I made the trip to San Francisco to see Broken Social Scene. It didn't click that when I tried to buy tickets the night before, that perhaps the show was sold out. And I knew there was that chance that it could be sold out, but The Grand is a big venue, and although they were featured in both Under the Radar and Filter in the same month, I thought there would be tickets at the door. We get there, it's sold out. People are trying to buy tickets because the show sold out a week before. We stood around for a bit before I turned to Josh and said we should see if we can get in another way. We tried a couple side doors, but they were locked. I asked Josh if he would knock on the bus and ask the band if they could help get us in. So Josh knocks and Justin, the drummer, goes to the door. Josh tells him we had driven 3 hours, unaware that the show was sold out, to see them. It's more like 2 from Sacramento, but it's still quite aways from San Francisco. Justin closed the door and i thought, "how rude." He had told Josh to hold on. He came back with a cell phone and a pen and he called up Adam (one of the trumpet players already in the venue). Justin walked us to the door to meet Adam, and as we were walking there, people were asking him if he had any tickets, unaware that he was the drummer. So we got in and for two hours, I swooned and my heart fluttered at the sound of the beautiful music created by Broken Social Scene.

Feist was also great. She's adorable and funny.

I was crushing on Adam, the trumpet player with the argyle sweater... and the redhead bassist.
